Housing Support: Sheltered schemes
Tenants are supported by a part-time Sheltered Housing Support Worker. The hours normally worked are Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm. You will be enabled to decide just what level of support you need and this will be reviewed annually or more frequently if you wish. You may elect to receive a daily call from your Sheltered Housing Support Worker, or have a visit, either every day or once/twice a week. Each scheme is linked to a 24 hour emergency call system. Tenants are able to summon help through 'pull cords' situated throughout their homes. Your Sheltered Housing Support Worker can help you with:
Your Housing Officer will also have a surgery every fortnight at which you can discuss any concerns you may have - for example, with understanding your rent statement, neighbour related issues.
