Global Harmony off to France July 16th - 20th!

Itinery

Global Harmony has just received the planned itinery for it's stay with Canta Koume - the choir from the Loire Valley that visited us for a singing and sight-seeeing bonanza last July. It looks like a wonderful action packed five days with two shared concerts as the main focus.

We can't wait to see the fun loving singers we all became very attached to last year. We had such a great time with them. They certainly know how to party, so we are expecting some mighty high jinks from them on their own ground!

Here is the itinery they have planned for us:

CANTA KOUMÉ WELCOMES GLOBAL HARMONY
Programme July 16th to 20th 2009


Thursday 16th July
Meet and Greet at the salle des Loisirs in Gennes. Drinks offered by Gennes Town Council. Mayors of villages and towns involved in the exchange will be invited.
Dinner with hosts.

Friday 17th July
9am – 12am Workshop for both choirs at the salle des Loisirs in Gennes.
12am – 2pm Picnic prepared by hosts.
2.30pm – 6.30pm Musical walk through Gennes. We will visit 3 different places, sing a few songs in each place and walk from one place to the other.
2.30 Start at St Eusèbe church. One choir wil sing 3 or 4 songs. Then walk to the Nymphée, a pond built in Roman times around a natural spring, situated in a private garden.
4.00 – 5.00 Visit the Nymphée. The other choir sings 3 or 4 songs.
Walk to the Gallo Roman amphitheatre.
5.30 – 6.30 Visit of the site. Both choirs will sing 3 or 4 songs together.
Then a break, soft drinks will be served.

6.30pm Go by car to Moulin de Sarré, a water mill where they make and sell flour. A visit of the mill – in English – will be ossible or a rest in the shade of the garden if preferred.

7.30pm Apéritif and dinner in themill restaurant.
They have a video projector, so bring your photos from last year.

Saturday 18th July
Morning free. Different activities will be organised, you will only need to contact the person in charge.
Saumur market and town centre, Angers market and town centre, the château in Angers, visit to wine places (sparkling wine in Saumur), hiking along the Loire, canoeing, troglodytes ….
Lunch with hosts as arranged.
2.30pm – 5.30pm Rehearsal at the salle des Loisirs in Le Thoureil, a charming village along the Loire. As everybody will not be rehearsing at the same time, the rest can walk around the village or sit outside the café and have a drink

6.00pm Just a snack before the concert.
8.00pm Rehearsal at the church in les Rosiers
8.30pm Concert in the church
10.00pm Back to le Thoureil, salle des Loisirs for a buffet prepared by the hosts.

Sunday 19th July
Morning free, same sort of activities as on the day before.
Lunch with hosts.
3.30pm Rehearsal in les ponts de Cé, salle Emstall ( a nice, well equipped concert hall)
5.00pm Concert
7.00pm Farewell party, in the same place.
Buffet from professional caterer. Musical entertainment. Dance ??

Monday 20th July
Goodbye !!!!
