A fantastic day out for Global Harmony at the Community Choirs Festival at Warwick Arts Centre
21 members of Global Harmony met on the University of Warwick campus for another wonderful Community Choirs Festival. Like last year Global Harmony joined forces with over 25 other choirs from all over the Midlands and beyond, to form a mass choir for the first part of this exceptionally well organised event. The mass choir of around 400 singers learnt and sang 5 songs together in the marvellous accoustic of the newly reburbished Buttereworth Hall in Warwick Arts Centre.
After making such glorious muusic together led by the 4 mass choir leaders of the day, the individual choirs then performed to each other in a staged concert. 25 choirs performed one song in turn to an audience made up of all the other choirs. It was fascinating to hear the different styles of delivery and choices of music.
The Global Harmony members who were there on the day, around a third of the full choir, equipped themselves very well singing Ya Se Va, a lively love song from Chile.
Thank you to Alice Robin and Hilary Davies for organising such a very enjoyable day - and here's hoping that they will have the energy to put together another festival next year!
